Co-creating Harm Free(dom)
There is no such thing as a safe space, but co-creating harm-free(dom) is our priority. Welcoming co-learning and a harm-free environment is our wish. Our community seeks to connect individuals and communities near and far to build an ecosystem of healers, artists, cultural and movement workers. People of all identities are welcome, unless an affinity space is specified for a particular offering. We wish to inspire each other to build relationships through sharing and witnessing each others’ successes, struggles, lessons, and questions.
Systemically/structurally, we seek to reduce harm and foster welcome by:
- making partial or full scholarships available
- designating scent-free spaces
- offering support for accessibility needs
Our aim is to create a space for participants to celebrate complexity and diversity in an environment free from oppressive behaviors or remarks. For example, We will not tolerate any forms of racism, homophobia, xenophobia, transphobia, heterosexism, fat-shaming, sizeism and/or ableism. Bigotry, disrespect and hateful behavior are unwelcome. Compassion, kindness and respect are encouraged.
In Person: During our person-to-person interactions in community we invite folks to co-create harm-freedom(Dom) by refraining from harmful speech and refraining from non-consensual contact of any kind (unwelcome hugs, uninvited hair touching, etc.). Fragrance-Free Space: Out of respect for people with environmental illnesses, we request that everyone attending refrain from wearing fragrances. This includes clothing that has been laundered with fragranced detergent or softening products. We greatly appreciate your efforts to make events accessible to those with MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities). There will be designated fragrance-free seating and spaces.
